    - fur seal pups drown: oil sticks their flippers to their bodies

    - birds lose body weight and ends in a low body temperature: should have high

    - marine animals lose body weight: they can't feed because of contamination in their environment from oil

    - birds become dehydrated and starve- can't swim or fly to find food

    - damage to the insides of animals and birds bodies: bleeding in their stomachs

It also causes the environment and sea animals many problems-

    - problems with breeding: too ill to breed which reduces population and could lead to extinction of sea mammals

    - damage to the airways and lungs of marine mammals: congestion, pneumonia, emphysema and even death by breathing in oil particles

    - damage to elimination of a sea mammal's immune system: sometimes causes secondary bacterial or fungal infections

    - damage to red blood cells in many animals

    - decrease in the thickness of egg shells: could cause early hatching and death
